Out of all the assignments we did this semester, I had the most fun working on the podcast. My partner Aj and I worked really hard on that project, getting a script, working in the studio, and editing it. We honestly could have talked for half an hour in that studio, just playing with the equipment and talking to each other about our topic. Editing the audio afterwards was a blast as we got to choose our intro music and control what made the cut.
Some challenges I faced were internet issues, loading problems, clicking on too many things on Adobe, and freezing the program. Sometimes, I also could not grasp how to work some of the controls; while using Photoshop, I had a lot of mental issues figuring out the tools. Lastly, finding time to finish the final project was a hefty task. It took so long to edit and make sure it was perfect, but in the end, it was a success.
I would have given a little more thought to my resume when working on it. I was not really into InDesign compared to the other apps. I rushed through most of that assignment, and I want to give that a redo in the future. Another thing will be to study Photoshop better. Even with my struggles, I enjoyed the concept and the idea that you can make and change anything. I want to start incorporating that into my career and master that concept.
This class has taught me all the technical skills I will need to understand all these Adobe apps. I have the start of a great learning experience if I continue the basic skills taught to me in this class. From creating a podcast to editing a video, major things in the media industry that I want to pursue. I know what works and does not work, how to troubleshoot an issue on Audition if my sound is off. Also knowing the basics of art, such as the rules of thirds and lighting that play an important role in separating an ok piece from a great one.
